McCormick Ranch
Scottsdale, Arizona
Completed: 1973

The plan for McCormick Ranch spanned an area totaling over 4,000 acres, with five villages each oriented toward a central recreational facility such as a lake, an equestrian center or a tennis complex.

Our plan recognized the dual nature of Scottsdale as both a community and a destination resort. It included permanent housing as well as hotels and a conference center.

During the planning process, we maintained a constant dialog with city officials, making final approvals easier. McCormick Ranch is regarded as one of the most successful projects for mixed land use of community development. Work completed while a Vice President at Gruen Associates.
